Research

I study operator algebras and quantum information theory.

In the past, I’ve studied crossed products of operator algebras and representation theory for non-self-adjoint operator algebras. Crossed product theory is a non-commutative analogue of studying time evolution of topological dynamical systems, and it extends the notion of semidirect products and group rings from algebra. Analytically (as D. Williams puts it), you can think of crossed product theory as the harmonic analysis of functions on a group that take values in an operator algebra.

More recently, I’ve been working with C*-algebras arising from the quantum analogue of a classical directed graph.
